Turtles, turtles everywhere! There are turtle trivets, musical instruments from turtle shell, turtle-inspired drawings, decorations, and abstract art. No, this isn’t a turtle museum, it’s Turtle Back Mesa, a naturist B&B located on a turtle-shaped mesa 25 miles from Palm Springs. The decor is Southwestern, the setting serene, the air clean and dry, the views spectacular, the hosts warm and gracious, and the accommodations superb. But the real star of the show is the natural hot mineral water.

The natural 139-degree mineral water is pumped up from a 425-foot well on the property, fills the large 16' x 9' spa and the 6' spa (where you soak at a more comfortable temperature), warms the swimming pool, and runs through pipes in the floor for radiant heating in winter. No chemicals are added to the spas. From both spas there’s an unobstructed view of the magnificent desert, the Santa Rosa Mountains and Mt. San Jacinto, the second tallest mountain in Southern California.

Turtle Back Mesa has three rooms; one is ADA compliant. Each opens onto the central courtyard and swimming pool—obscured from the outside world for total relaxation and enjoyment. Leave your laptop and cell phone at home, this is a place to get away from it all. The guest rooms have no clocks, no TVs, no radios, or phones. Wi-Fi is available and breakfast is provided. For health reasons, no food is permitted in the guest rooms.
